Aldi is one of the world’s largest privately-owned companies with more than 7,000 stores across Europe, North America and Australia. Aldi opened its first stores in the UK in 1990 and now has over 800 stores nationwide.
Aldi focuses on quality rather than quantity, stocking a range of groceries which includes many of the weekly food items shoppers need. This allows Aldi to get the lowest prices from suppliers and then pass on the savings to customers.
This commitment to quality has led to Aldi being awarded a host of industry and customer accolades, including being named Britain’s favourite supermarket in the Which? 2018 Customer Satisfaction Survey voted for by UK shoppers.
Aldi believes that the introduction of a new store at this location would provide residents of Bangor with a greater level of parking and a high-quality store providing customers with a modern shopping experience, whilst still stocking the same range of award-winning products.
The Bampton Property Group Limited (part of the Freshwater Group) currently own the site. The proposed planning application will be brought forward by The Bampton Property Group.
Freshwater Group of Companies has substantial property holdings across the UK and in the last ten years has been actively involved in many central London developments, as well as Gateway Retail Park in Lowestoft and new Aldi stores in Dartford ad Newton Aycliffe.
